Summer In Vermont

Summer In Vermont

Welcome to Woodstock for the summer!

Hike the trails of Mt. Tom and Mt. Peg for the reward of a gorgeous view or head out to Barnard’s Silver Lake State Park for a refreshing swim.  We have some favorite swimming holes we can share with you too.

Here are 10+ ideas to start you on your Summer 2017 bucket list.

  1. Take your bike on the WAMBA trails in back of Dana Road House. We have an amazing single track trail network right in Woodstock

2. Hop on the Woodstock bike route in front of Falcon House and pedal to the village to explore Woodstock. There are great, family friendly routes and  along the Ottauquechee river too.

At Silver Lake State Park in Barnard. Enjoy a and dipped ice cream at the Barnard General store as an after swimming treat. Yum!

7. Hike along the bottom of the Quechee Gorge.

Challenge your fear of heights and take in the Quechee Gorge, Vermont’s own Grand Canyon! After you look down, hike to the bottom and look up for a different perspective.
8. Enjoy a cone at the Ben & Jerry’s factory in Waterbury.

It’s OK to be a tourist in your own state once in a while, so when you’re on 89 just take a quick detour and get off at exit 10 and the factory is just up the road.

9. Visit a farmer’s market.

We have several great Farmers markets right in Woodstock, and many more that are just a short drive away. From tie-dye shirts to hot ginger pears (and everything in between) you’ll find them at these lively markets. You’ll also meet some of the nicest people there, too.

10. Paddle a canoe, kayak or tube.
